     Centered smack in the middle of the bustling First and Main district in Hudson, Vue Restaurant & Lounge stands out even amongst her classy neighbors. With a 1940's supper club style and frequent live music, the ambiance is reminiscent of an upscale jazz club. It is no surprise that Vue made Scene Magazine's Best of Cleveland list for Best Décor in 2005. Accolades here are plentiful- the wine list created by Sommelier Michael Tomaselli is nationally recognized, having received the prestigious Award of Unique Distinction by Wine Enthusiast Magazine in 2005. (Finally, Scene and the Wine Enthusiast can agree on something!) Fortunately, experiencing the relaxing and warm atmosphere is only just the beginning. 
     We found the Thursday ladies' night special here to be quite the catch. The hours for the special (4:00-10:00pm) is certainly more lengthy than most. Additionally, instead of offering either a drink or food special, Vue had a nice assortment of both with all specials half-priced. We had a choice of three appetizers, with the menu rotating weekly. After careful deliberation, we opted for the Banana Peppers Stuffed with Risotto, Apricots and Mascarpone, Finished with Fresh Mint Oil- a mouthful in more ways than one. We found the elegantly presented dish to have a delectable medley of flavors that finished with a satisfying, evanescent burst of heat. Drink options were more numerous. We could choose from about eight or so creative martinis- the pear/limoncello martini was good (just a bit tart), but the pomegranate martini was simply excellent. If you're not the shaken nor stirred type, three wines from the notable wine list were also available at half-off. The service was a tad on the slow side, which was well-compensated for by the friendly staff. Live music by pianist Rick Gleason contributed to the mellow atmosphere and was at an appropriate volume as to not interfere with casual conversation. With that said, gather your girlfriends and put on that outfit you've been dying to wear- the ambiance and décor coupled with impressive food and drink makes Vue Restaurant & Lounge a prime locale for a ladies' night out.
